Ever wonder about what you will do with your current major? Want to explore options that may be available to you after your bachelor’s degree?

If you have an analytic mind, you can consider earning a Master’s degree in Computer Science regardless of your undergraduate major in as little as 2 extra semesters.

Why consider a Computer Science Master’s Degree?

Employment projections by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (https://www.bls.gov/) shows a steady growth in computer/data/information-related jobs over the next many years.   Computer science no longer is just about “coding”, but incorporates diverse fields such asdata analysis, information visualization, game and entertainment creation, medical equipment and diagnosis, and artificial intelligence. If you are an Arts, English, or Business student, there is something you will be able to do in these fields. Besides, it is fun!

The 4+1 dual BS/MS program will allow you to take Computer Science MS courses while still enrolled in the Bachelor’s program of your major. You will pay regular undergraduate tuition for these graduate courses. Up to a total of 12 graduate credits can be applied towards your bachelor’s as well as master’s degrees (‘double-dipped’). At the end of your bachelor’s program, you can graduate and decide not to pursue the graduate degree or continue to your MS in Computer science with up to 12 graduate credits already applied towards the program. An additional 18 credits, which you can complete during the subsequent fall and spring terms, will earn you a master’s degree in Computer Science.

Please join us at an information session to learn more about the 4+1 program from the program coordinator and ask any questions you may have. Fresh pizza will also be available for attendees!
